No. 6 Go welly wandering

Visitors at Nostell Priory, West Yorkshire

When it's pouring with rain, what could be better than chucking on your wellies and waterproofs and zooming around in the puddles, soaking up all the watery fun? Going welly wandering is No. 6 of our '50 things to do before you're 11¾'.

You don't need any instructions for this challenge, it's exactly what it says on the tin.

What do you need:

You just need rain, some waterproof clothing, wellies and yourself.

What will you do in the rain?

If you're running around, you could jump in puddles, squelch in mud, jump over puddles, splash through paths and bounce across pavements, splish round your garden or splosh around the park.

You might even be able to convince some grown-ups to join in too once they realise how much fun it is.

The rain makes everything fresh again, and the more you jump around on grass, the more chance you have of enjoying another challenge afterwards – No. 13 Make a mud creation.

It's also perfect weather for having a go at one more of the activities, No. 17 Set up a snail race.

So, if you're the sort of person that doesn't like rainy days then these activities might just change your mind.
