South Hampshire National Trust Volunteers Group

Stunning views from Stockbridge Down

There is probably one interest common to all of us in the South Hampshire NTV group and that's a love of the countryside.

We come from all walks of life and our present age range is from 10 to 80+. As our name implies, our work sites are in South Hampshire; we regard our home base as Mottisfont. We also regularly work in the New Forest and on Stockbridge Down.

We hold work parties about twice a month throughout the year, usually on a Sunday - you come when you can spare the time. Most events are attended by about 12 to 16 people.

The work we're asked to do varies with the seasons. For example, much of the autumn and winter tasks involve 'scrub bashing' and tree planting. In summer months, we do mulching, ragwort and Himalayan balsam pulling and estate maintenance.
