South West Coast Path. Creating a year-round economic asset

Walking on the South West Coast Path

The ambition is to a create a year-round experience for everyone and economic benefits for local communities on the South West Coast Path. Thanks to funding from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, works have started to make this ambition a reality.

Works on the South West Coast Path, which include path repairs, signage upgrades and access improvements, is part of a wider ambition to create an all-year walking experience for everyone to enjoy.

These projects will bring higher quality experiences throughout the year that more people can access. This will benefit the local businesses and communities outside of the main tourism seaons.

This work has been part funded from 2019 - 2021 by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).

The sites that EAFRD have invested in are below. We would like to thank the contractors, staff and volunteers who have worked through the challenges presented by Covid-19 to help provide year-round spaces for those who enjoy the South West Coast Path.
