Tenterden and District Association
Tenterden and District National Trust Association provides National Trust members living in the Tenterden and Cranbrook area of Kent with an opportunity directly to support the work of the Trust, especially at local properties
Our Association is a friendly sociable group with membership open to all members and volunteers of the National Trust and National Trust for Scotland. Non-member guests are also welcome to join our lectures and outings for a small additional charge.
Our objectives are to provide a varied programme of activities suitable for all tastes with visits by coach to places of interest, monthly lectures, holidays as well as other social events such as theatre trips and an annual Christmas lunch whilst at the same time raising funds to support the National Trust. Our annual membership fee is £8 per person or £12 per couple.
As a member you will receive full details of our programme through our newsletter issued three times a year.
Recent support by our Association for National Trust projects has included
the refurbishment of a clock at Bateman’s
the provision of children’s costumes and other artefacts at Bodiam Castle
support for the Discovery Room at Scotney Castle
the provision of a bird hide and tree planting at Sissinghurst Castle
the installation of curtains in the Barn Theatre, wall panels for the cafe and a rose pergola at Smallhythe Place
providing visitor seating at the Fan Bay Tunnels and information panels at the White Cliffs of Dover
all of which enhance the experience of visitors to National Trust properties in the area.
