Vale of Glamorgan Association

Figure in low cloud in the Brecon Beacons National Park, South Wales

The Vale of Glamorgan Association, formed in 1998, provides an interesting and enjoyable programme for members all year round.

What we do

We hold lectures on the third Wednesday of each month from September to April.  These normally take place in Cowbridge and cover a wide range of topics.

During the summer we have day trips, usually to National Trust places, but not exclusively so.  Recent trips have been to Croome Park, Croft Castle & Ludlow, Dyrham Park, Dinefwr and Hidcote where we had an introductory talk from Glyn Jones, then Head Gardener.  We've also had tours of St Donat's Castle and Llanelly House.

We have organised residential coach holidays, last year based in Hayling Island;  over the course of five days we visited Mottisfont, Chichester Cathedral, Petworth, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, Exbury Gardens and the New Forest, Salisbury Cathedral for the Magna Carta Exhibition, and Lacock en route home. Previous holidays have been organised to Plymouth, Derbyshire, Harrogate, Kent and Leamington Spa.

As well as enjoying ourselves, we raise funds for Trust projects, usually those in Wales, but not necessarily so.

A warm welcome awaits, so do join us - we look forward to meeting you soon.
