Wildlife Week competition

Send in photos of your wildlife finds to be in with the chance of winning the competition.

It’s time to head outdoors and look out for creatures and plants that are returning to our shores now the temperature’s milder. This May half-term week we'll be gathering sightings of wildlife all over the south west and running the wildlife week competition. 

Wildlife Week competition 

Whilst out and about during May half-term see what nature and wildlife you can spot, if you take a photo and enter it you may just win a prize. 

There are three categories: 

  1. Photograph of largest wildlife spot - judged by Adrian Campbell. Prize is nest pocket for roosting birds, milk chocolate and praline bugs, chocolate hedgehog, and the book '101 Things For Kids To Do Outside'.
  2. Photograph of smallest wildlife spot photograph - judged by Adrian Campbell. Prize is nest pocket for roosting birds, milk chocolate and praline bugs, chocolate hedgehog, and the book '101 Things For Kids To Do Outside'.
  3. Best wildlife photograph - judged by Nick Waddington. Prize is a box of luxury all butter fudge, 'The Wild Things Guide To The Changing Plant Life of The British Isles' book and nest pocket for roosting birds. 

Tips from the judges

Nick says, 'we're looking for some creative shots of creatures familiar and unusal, showing them off in their natural habitat'. 

Adrian Campbell adds that, 'I'm looking forward to seeing the photos that come in, who knows what could be found in the South West'.

  1. You'll need a photograph of wildlife to enter
  2. Competition is open Saturday 28 May - Sunday 5 June 2016
