Big harvest celebrations at Greys Court

The fourteenth-century Great Tower from the Kitchen Garden at Greys Court, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire

The garden team have been working tirelessly this year to keep the gardens looking amazing, and to make sure we have a great harvest from the kitchen garden. This year from 1 September to 31 October, we're celebrating the gardeners' hard work and their harvest at Greys Court.

Short talks

Volunteers will be hosting talks about the work that goes on in the gardens at Greys Court, organic gardening and more, subject to availability. We also encourage you to get talking with the gardening team throughout October, they're more than happy to answer your questions and to talk to you about their work.

To find out when and where talks are taking place, ask at Visitor Reception.

Big harvest celebrations in the cowshed café

In the cowshed café we often use produce grown in the kitchen garden as inspiration for our recipes and the tasty treats we sell. We also use a lot of the produce the gardeners grow in our cooking.

We're baking special harvest themed treats for sale throughout October, using produce form the garden where available.

Jam-making in the mansion

We're also celebrating the harvest in the mansion with displays and in the old kitchen, where volunteers will be jam-making.

The volunteers will also be making jam tarts from their jam, so make sure to look out for those, too!
