Eating & shopping at Hadrians Wall

A row of Hadrian's Wall shortbread

There's tempting treats aplenty at Housesteads Visitor Centre. There's also a seating area with a view where you can relax and refuel with a cuppa, sandwich and more. Either way, we owe you a thank you since every penny spent makes its way back to Hadrian's Wall.

Housesteads Visitor Centre has plenty on offer to help make your day special.
We love inviting families, friends, groups and even your four-legged friends and there are seating areas where you can enjoy a cuppa and a snack.
For the shop-aholics there's cards and books, to teatowels, garden kit and plants. There's even egg cups, mugs and of course - Roman memorabilia.

Thank you

Every metre of Hadrian's Wall costs £100 to conserve and every penny you spend in the shop and café helps us to maintain this special place.
Without your support we simply wouldn't be able to do it. Thank you.

There are savoury snacks on offer such as sandwiches and salads - all handmade by local suppliers - plus hot and cold drinks available as well as crisps and a little cheeky chocolate treat.

No matter what the weather there is always a spot for you here to relax, inside and outside tables and benches are provided for you to enjoy refreshments, summarise your day and watch the world go by.

If this all sounds like a dream to you and you're a real history-buff then please, stay a little longer.
