Who knew an old linhay could make such a cosy and inviting holiday cottage? Black and white photographs from the late 1800s show the farm building in its heyday, with a horse and carriage passing by. Now after a careful restoration, Gordon’s Cabin has been brought back to life to provide a unique stay.

Inside, you’ll find an atmospheric open-plan space for two people, with tall beamed ceilings and contemporary interior styling. It sits in an elevated position in the village of Mortehoe with its 13th-century church and traditional pubs.  You will view the sea in the distance and the wild and remote coastline wraps around this beautiful village.

Just a five minutes’ drive will take you to Woolacombe beach, a hotspot for surfers and sun seekers alike. If you prefer to walk the coastline, then hop onto the South West Coast Path for long hikes along Mortehoe Point and the rest of north Devon’s rugged coastline.
