About Holeslack Cottage

Holeslack Cottage is a semi-detached cottage with walking trails and cycle routes on the doorstep, as well as views of Sizergh’s medieval castle which is just a 15-minute walk away. It was originally part of the farmhouse next door, thought to have been the dower house for Sizergh.

Downstairs, the sitting room has exposed beams, a wooden floor and cosy rugs and comfortable sofas by a wood-burner. The kitchen and dining room has everything you need to cook and eat together, and there’s a shower room down here too.

Upstairs, the king-size bedroom and one of the single bedrooms have views across the fields to the Pele Tower at Sizergh Castle and the second double bedroom overlooks the rear of the cottage. The family bathroom, with a freestanding bath, is fresh and simple.

Outside, you'll have your own enclosed garden and an outhouse with space for storing bikes.

A ten-minute cycle takes you onto various cycling routes including the Lakes and Dales loop and the Morecambe Bay route. Sizergh Castle estate stands at the gateway to the Lake District, with the southern shores of Lake Windermere less than a 30-minute drive from here. For the nearest shops and cafés, drive just ten minutes into the historic market town of Kendal.

Holeslack Cottage is next door to Holeslack Farmhouse which sleeps 8 people, larger groups can book both cottages.
