About Oxburgh Chapel Lodge

Oxburgh Chapel Lodge is an intriguing 19th-century Norfolk country cottage located in the grounds of Oxburgh Estate. The perfect get-away for two the cottage is surrounded by gardens and enjoys views over to the family chapel and the countryside beyond. Inside reveals a cosy country cottage atmosphere with low beamed ceilings, a log-burner and tiled floors. 

Wake up early and enjoy a long, lazy breakfast before heading out onto the estate. There are lots of stunning walking routes around Oxburgh Estate suitable for all ages and abilities.

A little further afield, discover the beautiful Peddars Way and rugged Norfolk coast paths. A 30 mile drive will take you to St George’s Guildhall. Book a guided tour of this stunning place knowing that the funds generated from your stay with us help to keep properties like this running.

Layout

Ground floor layout

Lobby with door to stairs, bathroom with electric shower over bath, kitchen/scullery, living room/dining area with wood-burning range/cooker and door to south-facing patio area.

First floor layout

Double bedroom with 6' bed which can be a twin on request.

More information

Heating: Electric under floor heating downstairs and electric panel heaters first floor.

Cottage approach: The gated entrance/exit to the cottage garden and parking area is via the main road into Oxborough village. Traffic may be heard passing. 

Parking: For 2 cars beside the cottage.

Utilities/Electricals: Cooking is by a wood burning range plus, microwave and 2 ring hob and small table top oven.

Access: The staircase turns at the bottom and is quite steep

Storage: Cycle storage is provided within the cottage garden. 

Offers: Holiday cottage guests have free entry to all National Trust properties during the period of their stay.  Full details in the confirmation email upon booking.

Guests will benefit from a late Sunday checkout of 4pm at this cottage.

Please note: It's likely you'll want to visit the hall at Oxburgh during your stay. Although you can't see it from your cottage, you'll be able to wander through the grounds to see this building emerge from the landscape.
