A short distance from Penbryn beach, one of the area’s best-kept secrets, Llanborth Farmhouse welcomes families, outdoor lovers and walkers. Step onto the all-Wales coastal path from the cottage door, and fall in love with this stretch of coastline which offers sweeping seascapes, rugged cliffs, tucked-away beaches and opportunities for dolphin-spotting.

Set in a little farming hamlet of Penbryn, just 400 metres up from the beach, your seaside escape starts when you open the door to this beautiful dog-friendly Victorian cottage, recently completely renovated in contemporary tones with a nod to the stunning coastal setting. There's an enclosed garden with patio table and chairs, great if the evenings are balmy and you want to stay outdoors.

From the cottage, head down the road to the beach or take the scenic route through the woods. There’s also a cafe opposite, open in the spring and summer months. This area is all about the coast, so whether you’re walking, relaxing on a beach or looking for some adrenaline-fuelled water activities you’ll be spoilt for choice. For nearby sand-between-your-toes based beach encounters, try surfer’s favourite Llangrannog; sandy, sheltered Mwnt or the wide open Poppit Sands, popular with all sorts of activity-lovers like kite boarders.

Cardigan is the nearest town, although there’s plenty to explore along the coastline in both directions from the cottage, if you head south into the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park to places like the pretty cathedral city of St Davids, coastal village of Solva, or Abereiddy with its Blue Lagoon (all about an hour away by car). Or adventure northwards towards the vibrant ancient market town of Aberystwyth, or a little further to the sand dunes of nearby Ynyslas (also a National Nature Reserve). Break up the journey by stopping halfway at the self-sufficient National Trust Llanerchaeron estate, with its Georgian villa, walled gardens, farm and lake.

Llanborth Farmhouse is joined to Penbryn Cottage (sleeps two, dog friendly) with an interconnecting door that can be unlocked upon request. They are near a small campervan site, Llanborth Campervan Site, and the cottages and campervan pitches can be booked together.
