About A week for nature
Experience the practical management tasks carried out by the estate rangers.Come and help us undertake key management of the Ashridge Estate. You will work in both the woodland and on the nationally important chalk grassland to gain an insight into the work of a National Trust ranger. Scrub clearance and the removal of cut grass will be included in your week's task, and your work will help the rare butterflies and flowers of the Ashridge Estate thrive.
About the accommodation
This bunkhouse provides rustic, basic accommodation which comprises two restored barns located amongst the woodlands and grassland of the Ashridge Estate. The first building comprises two dormitories each containing five sets of bunk beds. The second building contains the kitchen, lounge, toilets, showers and disabled facilities. The kitchen has been recently refitted and outside there is a lovely seating area. The wild fallow deer are regularly seen on the lawn outside the bunkhouse. There is no mobile signal in the bunkhouse but you should find some with a short walk into the nearby woods.
