About Conservation and habitat restorationClear the way for the bluebells with traditional coppicing practices and scrub removal at this new working holiday location.
Help out with a range of conservation tasks including restoring a coppice rotation in ancient bluebell-rich woodland, scrub removal and the widening of woodland rides and opening up of glades. Other tasks include removing invasive species on heathlands, restoration of wood pasture and grassland habitats or maintaining access to these natural spaces. Your work will contribute to improving and extending vital habitat and feed areas needed for a wide variety of native wildlife.
About the accommodation
Situated in a lovely rural location, but near the small market town of Haslemere, the bunkhouse is a countryside retreat on the edge of the South Downs National Park, with easy access to railway and road links to London and beyond. Situated on Swan Barn Farm surrounded by ancient meadows, woodland and orchards, this recently refurbished building has a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge complete with a wood-burning stove. There is plenty of outdoor space to sit and relax in as well as a barbecue area.
