About Cutting and clearing for wildlife

A range of wildlife-focussed conservation tasks at Ludshott Commons.

Pop some sturdy gardening gloves on and share a variety of cutting and clearing tasks to help out native wildlife on Ludshott Commons. From removing invasive trees on the heathland to opening glades in the ancient woodland of Selborne or providing feeding places for butterflies, you’ll be outdoors, among nature and in beautiful surroundings.
You could also be working to restore grassland habitats, or improve access into these tracts of wild countryside (one of the largest remaining areas of heathland in East Hampshire) so there’s plenty of variety to the days and lots of new skills to learn.

About the accommodation

Situated in a lovely rural location, but near the small market town of Haslemere, the bunkhouse is a countryside retreat on the edge of the South Downs National Park, with easy access to railway and road links to London and beyond. Situated on Swan Barn Farm surrounded by ancient meadows, woodland and orchards, this recently refurbished building has a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge complete with a wood-burning stove. There is plenty of outdoor space to sit and relax in as well as a barbecue area.
