Come and build dry stone walls in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.Come and help care for dry-stone walls in beautiful Upper Wharfedale. This upland farmed landscape is made up of small walled fields and there's plenty that need repairing. Don't worry if you've never done it before; our Rangers will provide expert training and guidance.
About the accommodation
The accommodation is located on the edge of the village of Buckden and at the foot of 702m high Buckden Pike. It is a 200-year-old converted barn with a large living room with open views up to Wharfedale into Langstrothdale. It is an ‘upside down’ building with the living room, kitchen and one bunk room on the first floor and two bunk rooms and bathroom on the ground floor. Each bunk room has two bunk beds. One is en suite, the other two share a bathroom/toilet. Town Head Bunkhouse does not have a garden next to the building but there is a National Trust picnic area with a built-in barbecue just 100 yards away.
Facilities: drying room, open fire/woodburner, washing machine, tumble dryer.
Bedding: pillows and mattress cover provided.
Notes for guests
What to bring: Warm and waterproof clothing essential, comfortable walking or work boots, steel toe capped if possible, but not essential
