About Habitat management and countryside skills
Learn skills that a countryside ranger needs to help manage and protect their properties.Working from the majestic heights of the Brecon Beacons to the glorious parkland of Abergavenny and timeless woodlands, get stuck in with a range of conservation tasks, including scrub clearance, upland erosion control, footpath maintenance, painting and removal of invasive species. Some work sites are on steep hills with a 15–50-minute walk to get to them, but don’t worry, it will be worth it for the view. No experience is needed but a sense of fun is essential.
About the accommodation
Situated next to a farm at the foot of the Brecon Beacons, the bunkhouse has two dormitories and a living room, which have been recently refurbished, as well as a large kitchen. There is plenty of open space to enjoy the breathtaking views.
