About Heathland Restoration Project

Join the Ranger Team and help restore an area of Lowland Heathland.

Rhododendron and small trees have taken over a lovely area of heathland on Cragside.  We need your help to restore the heathland and protect this priority habitat for Nightjars, reptiles and amphibians.  Using loppers and bow saws you will be cutting down the vegetation and having a bonfire too!  The estate is a mixture of Northumberland countryside and North American Landscape so there’s plenty to enjoy during your stay.

About the accommodation

The bunkhouse is a traditional conversion of two cottages formerly used for Victorian woodland workers. Located in Northumberland, just 12 miles from Alnwick and in the centre of the vast Cragside Estate. There are fabulous views overlooking Tumbleton Lake and surrounding hills.

Facilities: washer/dryer, TV, DVD player.

Bedding: No bedding/linen provided.
