About Learn traditional lime mortar pointing
Learn traditional stone building maintenance with an expert stone mason.Our experienced building team will work with you on lime pointing the Dale Head bunk house from preparation through to completion. Learn this traditional technique whilst working in the iconic Dark Peak area of the Peak District National Park. There may also be opportunities to see some of the other works this team carry out to maintain and repair other grit stone buildings on our property.
About the accommodation
A fully converted farmhouse situated at the western end of Edale. The bunkhouse lies at the foot of the 538m Horse Hill Tor with views of Kinder Scout. It is surrounded by working farms and a wooded garden with a stream.
Facilities: drying room, garden, open fire/woodburner, pay phone.
Bedding: Only mattress cover provided.
Notes for guests
Will involve working from covered scaffolding with lime based mortar.
