About Ranger for a weekWork alongside the ranger team for a week to help them with the wide range of tasks required at this time of year.
Golden Cap is England’s only natural World Heritage Site and visitors come to run, walk and swim along the coastline. But it’s not just the visitors you’ll see during your week working with the rangers, as the estate is also home to rare orchids, dragonflies, birds, reptiles and fungi. The ranger team are constantly out and about in the landscape, and when you sign up to this holiday, you’ll be joining them to see first hand the sort of things they get up to.
At around 95 miles long, there’s a huge variety of tasks that need to be done along the Jurassic Coast at this time of year. You could be lending a hand with footpath maintenance, fencing, making repairs to places where erosion has occurred, and many other things that will help look after the Golden Cap. All of these tasks are part of vital conservation work, helping us to protect the amazing habitats and species that live here. One thing is for sure, you won’t be bored on this break - and you’ll also find out more about the work that our rangers do all year round to look after this special landscape.
