About Walking the woods

Help to keep our woodland walks open for everyone.

Join the team at Colby in Wst Wales to help keep the 20km of footpaths across the estate and open to visitors, by clearing encroaching branches and scrub, and replacing worn out steps. You’ll work alongside staff and volunteers to open up the estate to visitors and give wildlife a boost, and then tidy up any debris and maintain the footpath network. You’ll be helping us to show off the beauty of Colby by keeping the woodland looking wonderful.

Colby is a haven for flora and fauna and has a wide range of habitats that include grassland, ponds and woodland, so keep your eyes peeled for voles, frogs, toads and more while you’re helping out. The various areas also mean that there will be a wide range of other estate and garden tasks available to keep things interesting. You’ll stay at the heart of the estate in a farmhouse surrounded by woodland and meadows that dates back 200 years, so when you get some time to yourself you can just chill out or even take a slow stroll to the beach at Amroth, only 30 minutes away through lush green woodland.
