October half-term and Halloween in the East of England

We've got pumpkin patches, scary spiders and creaking staircases, just some of the ingredients you'll need for a spooky Halloween adventure. Here are some of our places you might like to visit with the family this October half-term.

A young girl enjoying the autumn leaves dressed as a witch for Halloween

Come and explore the wonders of Chute Wood at Dunstable Downs and all the ghoulish creatures that can be found there on our popular pumpkin trail, or choose from a range of autumn crafts.

Three children carving pumpkins in the Great Barn at Wimpole

Visit if you dare! Join us for bat week at Anglesey Abbey, our Fenland spooktacular returns at Wicken Fen, and we'll be pumpkin carving at Wimpole Home Farm.

Group of girls following a Halloween activity trail

This year we’re running our half term activities at Ashridge Estate over two weeks. Why not come along and try our haunted trail, where kids can meet the ghosts of some of the people who’ve previously lived on the estate.

Children carrying pumpkins

From pumpkin pastimes to apples galore, lots of our half-term activities are making the most of nature this October. Join us for wild art creations, scarey spiders and nature walks after dark!

Autumn half term adventures this way

Come and enjoy an autumnal trail at Flatford, try your hand at autumn crafts at Ickworth, book your place for a spot of pumpkin carving at Melford Hall or if you're looking for something a little different, visit Sutton Hoo after dark this October half-term.
