Lockeridge Dene and Piggledene
A pleasing and unusual sight in the Wiltshire landscape, at Lockeridge Dene and Piggledene you'll find sheltered valleys containing well developed 'boulder streams' of sarsen stones. Sarsen stones are of ecological interest for the lichens and mosses they support as well as geological importance. Find out more about this unusual landscape.

Lockeridge Dene walking trail
An adventurous walk that will leave you with a sense of accomplishment despite only being 5.6 miles long. Following the Wansdyke for part of its length, the walk takes in beech woodland, a valley filled with sarsen boulders and has picturesque views over the surrounding downland.

Piggledene Trail
This varied and interesting walk takes in part of the iconic national trail, fields strewn with sarsen boulders, ancient barrows and monuments and quaint villages - something for everyone really.
