Repairing steps at Lesceave Cliffs
Rangers in West Cornwall have repaired the steps at Lesceave Cliffs thanks to the gift in memory of Pam Grogan.
It is with thanks for the gift in memory of Pam Grogan who has funded the renewal of steps at Lesceave Cliffs. Rangers from the West Cornwall team replaced the steps with chestnut timber on a sunny day during May. This generous gift allows us to maintain the presentation along this stunning coastline as well as keeping the access in good condition.
Pam loved the Mounts Bay area, walking and botanising along this stretch of Cornish coastline. Thanks to Pam and the countryside team, walkers can continue to walk this stretch of coast path all year taking in the coastal views of Praa Sands and spotting wild flowers along the way such as thrift, common vetch and bird’s foot trefoil.
In West Cornwall we offer alternative suggestions to installing memorial benches due to a high request and a duty to protect the wonderful landscape we look after. These alternative suggestions vary dependant on the specific site and what work is needed but could include repairing or replacing gates, steps and other infrastructure. In these cases a small temporary sign is installed that is in place for a period of time, to thank the donor for their contribution in memory of a loved one.
