Relax in our cosy cafe

A visitor in the cafe at Red House, Kent

Sit down in Morris' own kitchen and enjoy a light lunch or a slice of cake.

Tucked away at the back of the house the cafe is the perfect spot for a mid-afternoon treat after a stroll around the house and garden. The old kitchen is painted a bright mustard yellow, the colour Morris himself chose, and looks out onto a small courtyard, covered with roses and hollyhocks in the summer.

Take a seat in the old kitchen or butler's pantry and enjoy a light lunch from our menu of pies, pasties and soup. We also offer a wide selection of cakes as well as a traditional cream tea. If you visit on a Friday you can indulge yourself in a slice of our wombat friday choloclate cake. A truly decadent treat.
