Christmas at Sunnycroft

Traditional decorations on a Christmas Tree

Discover a festive Sunnycroft festooned with handmade decorations, a magical way to start your family's Christmas. Sunnycroft will be open Friday to Tuesday from Saturday 1 December to Sunday 23 December.

Traditional Christmas with a crafty twist

In the spirit of Sunnycroft's crafty history, our talented volunteers have been busy elves, making paper chains, garlands and all sorts of decorations to festoon our trees. Each Christmas tree has a different theme, which one is your favourite, there are lots of unusual decorations to spot, paper chains made out of sheet music, upcycled hot air balloon baubles or hand crafted embroidery decorations.

Local choirs

It’s our 10th anniversary year since we started working with local groups to put on our Christmas carol performances at Sunnycroft. This year we have a variety of local schools, hand bell ringers and local groups, all performing around the billiard room table. Look on our events page to see which days the choirs will be performing.

Christmas Shopping

Our tearoom is the perfect place to relax and soak up the Christmas ambiance, have a pot of tea and a mince pie by a roaring fire, or a warming bowl of soup.

In our Kitchen shop we have lots of great gift ideas, from calendars to blankets, decorations for your tree, jams and biscuits, as well as local artisan souvenirs.

The mini estate in winter

Wrap up warm and explore the gardens at Sunnycroft, watch the low winter sunlight dance through the bare trees or listen to the early morning frost crunch under foot. The barren landscape brings its own beauty in the winter, what will you discover on your walk?

Opening times

Sunnycroft will open for Christmas Friday to Tuesday from Saturday 1 December to Sunday 23 December, 10:30am-4pm. Last entry to the house will be at 3pm. Standard admission charges apply.
