This December, Attingham Park invites you to step into a world of festive stories, sparkling decorations, and seasonal fun. Inside the Georgian Mansion, Christmas traditions from across the centuries unfold. Outdoors, the Walled Garden cats lead a playful search for Father Christmas’s missing reindeer with a family-friendly festive trail. And new for this year, on selected dates, live music drifts through the parkland from Attingham's Christmas bandstand, adding an extra layer of magic to your visit.

Booking tickets for the Mansion

Attingham's Mansion is opening its doors this festive season for visitors with pre-booked tickets.

The Mansion will be open from Saturday 29 November to Thursday 1 January, with the exception of Christmas Day, when it will be closed. Entry is managed through pre-booked timed slots, giving you the flexibility to explore at your own pace once inside.

Tickets will be released in stages starting Thursday 13 November 2025. National Trust members can visit for free, but booking is still required. Non-members will need to pay at the time of booking.

Bookings can be made up until 8.00am on the day of your visit. Any remaining tickets will be available for walk-up visitors and can be purchased at Visitor Reception upon arrival.

Temporary Pre-Booking for Grounds Visits: 20 December - 1 January

Over the years at Christmas, Attingham has often relied on the grass overflow car park. Wet winters linked to climate change now make that difficult. The long-range forecast shows more rain ahead, so we do not expect to open the overflow again this season.

To make sure everyone can enjoy their visit smoothly and avoid turning anyone away, we’re trialling an extension of the pre-booking system to include Grounds Only visits. Grounds Only visits after 9.30am will require pre-booking from Saturday 20 December to Thursday 1 January.

This temporary change helps us manage visitor numbers and avoid queues. As General Manager Mark Agnew explains:
“You come to Attingham to relax, not to queue for parking. By asking Grounds Only visitors to book, we can keep your experience running smoothly.”

Already booked Christmas in the Mansion? You’re all set - your ticket includes grounds access.

How to book Grounds Only tickets:

  • Book online or call 0344 249 1895

From 2 January, we’ll return to our usual free-flow approach with parking on a first-come, first-served basis.
