Step into Attingham for Christmas and discover festive decorations inspired by Italy and Teresa, Lady Berwick.
Thomas, 8th Lord Berwick and his wife Teresa shared a love of decorative arts, music, and travel. Raised in Venice, Teresa brought with her a passion for the beauty, colour and traditions of Italy, which helped shape life at Attingham.
As you explore the Mansion's Ground Floor and Basement, you'll encounter elegant Christmas trees, sparkling decorations and festive displays inspired by Italy's landscapes, culture and craftsmanship. Booking tickets for the Mansion

Attingham's Mansion is opening its doors this festive season for visitors with pre-booked tickets.

The Mansion will be open from Saturday 29 November - Sunday 3 January, with the exception of Christmas Day, when it will be closed. Entry is managed through pre-booked timed slots, giving you the flexibility to explore at your own pace once inside.

Tickets will be released in stages starting Thursday 19 November 2026. National Trust members can visit for free, but booking is still required. Non-members will need to pay at the time of booking.

Bookings can be made up until 8.00am on the day of your visit. Any remaining tickets will be available for walk-up visitors and can be purchased at Visitor Reception upon arrival.

Mansion tickets include parking, so there is no need to book a separate outdoor-only ticket.

Pre-Booking for Grounds Visits: Weekends and School Holidays

In previous years, Attingham has often relied on the grass overflow car park during the busy Christmas period. However, wetter winters associated with climate change mean that this is no longer a reliable option. Based on weather patterns in recent years, we do not expect to be able to open the overflow car park this winter.

To help ensure everyone can enjoy their visit and to reduce the risk of visitors being turned away, we are extending our pre-booking system to include Grounds Only visits during the busiest periods in December.

Grounds Only visits after 9.30am will require pre-booking on the following dates:

  • Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November 2026
  • Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December 2026
  • Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December 2026
  • Saturday 19 December 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027

This temporary measure will help us manage visitor numbers and reduce congestion and queues.

Booked Christmas in the Mansion? You're all set. Your Christmas in the Mansion ticket includes access to the grounds.

How to book Grounds Only tickets:

  • Book online from Thursday 19 November 2026 or call 0344 249 1895
  • Tickets are per car, not per visitor.

From Monday 4 January 2027, we will return to our usual approach, with parking available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please note: tickets are issued per vehicle, not per person. One booking covers all passengers arriving in the same vehicle.
