Trees are essential for life. They clean the air we breathe, lock up carbon as they grow and provide homes for wildlife. This National Tree Week (25 November–3 December), donate to Plant a Tree and help us plant and establish 20 million trees by 2030.

Trees are one of our best natural defences against climate change, which is having a devastating impact on places where people and nature can thrive. We predict that planting and establishing 20 million trees will, at their peak, store around 300,000 tonnes of carbon a year.

There's no time to lose. We must plan for the future of woodlands, parklands and orchards so we can tackle the nature and climate crises together. Help us to plant more trees today and support life for years to come.

Plant a tree in memory or as a gift

Why not dedicate your donation to someone in your life? It could be a unique Christmas gift, an eco-friendly birthday present, or a lasting way to remember a loved one. You'll receive a digital certificate which you can share with the recipient – it's customisable and has options to add their name and an occasion, such as Christmas, a birthday, a marriage or in memory. Once you’ve completed your donation, you’ll receive a confirmation email within 15 minutes with your certificate attached for you to download.

Barbour match-funding

We’ve partnered with British lifestyle brand Barbour who will match tree-planting donations up to a total value of £50,000 as part of their commitment to help preserve the British countryside. That’s 10,000 more saplings making the country a more diverse, beautiful and cleaner place. So if you give today, your donation will go even further.

Why plant a tree?

We need to work together to tackle the climate crisis, and it's only with your support that we can make a difference. These new trees will create new habitats for wildlife, including the red squirrel, song thrush and red kite. Your donation today will help plant and establish more trees that will lock up carbon, help nature flourish and create natural spaces for people to enjoy.

How much does it cost to plant a tree?

Our suggested minimum donation amount is £5, as this is approximately what it costs us to plant one new sapling. However, larger donations allow us to plant bigger, more established trees, such as fruiting orchard trees. No matter the size of your donation to our Plant a Tree fund, you’ll help to create beautiful green spaces for people and wildlife to thrive.
