Secondary education at Sutton House and Breaker's Yard

Sutton House has a wealth of Tudor history, with links to the monarchy, the reformation, Oliver Cromwell, and loads more. This session can be tailored to your curriculum topic.

KS3 Local Area Study workshops at Sutton House include looking at sources, investigating how Hackney changed geographically over a chronological period.

During the Elizabethan times Sutton House was a symbol of wealth, with a remaining Elizabethan armada glass window, Elizabethan portraits, symmetrical wings, original plaster work with visible animal hair and much more; it's the perfect place for a GCSE history field trip.

SEND workshops at Sutton House include multi-sensory object handling, sensory tours, and bespoke projects.

Not only do we offer our core and seasonal workshops, we can also work with you and your curriculum aims to develop a workshop. We work with both primary, secondary and SEND departments to develop workshops.

With National Trust Educational Group Membership you can use Sutton House for several different functions. Our members have performed, held meetings and sat exams all in the Sutton House historic walls.

Education group membership is specially designed to allow education groups free entry to most places owned by the National Trust. It is for not-for-profit groups or home educators whose members, pupils or students are in full-time education.
