For the first time, Bath Assembly Rooms is participating in ReBalance Bath - Festival of Wellness. During the day come and see the sun like never before with Luke Jerram’s Helios.
Bath Assembly Rooms is the first venue to host Helios during 2025 and what better way to kick-off wellness by seeing the rippling lights, solar imagery and sounds of the sun in the Ball Room.
This 7-metre diameter artwork represents the sun and is scaled so that each centimetre represents 2000 kilometres of the real sun’s surface. Visitors are invited to come and sit beneath the sun as Helios hangs from the centre of the Ball Room ceiling. Take a closer look at the star including rare features like sunspots and solar flares and bathe in the soundscape composed from NASA recordings of the sun.
The Ball Room and Great Octagon will be open during this installation.
