Guided walk: the archaeology of Dyrham Park
Join expert archaeology volunteer guides on a walk to find out what lies beneath the 270-acre site with an overview of the history of the area plus some highlights of finds uncovered over the years.

From deer park earthworks, pillow mounds, a horse engine, water tanks and more, find out how the use of the park has developed over time and what these can tell us about life at Dyrham in years gone by. The walk will go into areas not normally open to the public. It will start at visitor reception and go through the parkland and finish down by the house and garden. The walks are free of charge but booking is essential to avoid disappointment as numbers are limited.

Please dress for the great outdoors with sturdy footwear as the walk is steep and uneven in places.

The walk is steep and uneven in places. It is not wheelchair accessible. Please note the volunteer guides will be available to talk about archaeology at Dyrham on the same afternoons as the guided walks in the house which has level access.
