Get active and creative with a wide range of activities in the great outdoors this summer.
Every day, families can let their imaginations run wild with play stations filled with different things to try and a chance to perform on a mini stage with puppets and props. Or relax in a deckchair with a picture book.
On Tuesdays from 29 July to 26 August there will be Nature Explorer sessions including bug hunts and pond dipping at 11am and 1.30pm.
Each Wednesday from 23 July until 27 August, will be 'watercolour Wednesday' where visitors can get creative by collecting materials, going off to draw, and returning to the gazebo for some watercolour painting. 10.30am to 3.30pm.
On Thursdays, nature lovers can look at a collection of animal skulls, skins and interesting items from around the parkland and find out fascinating facts.
Super Pirates will be here on Thursday 14 August from 1-3pm with festival fun in a large star tent with group games, music and activities.
Spend some time at Old Lodge play area in the parkland where you'll also find picnic tables, a café and an ice cream kiosk.
Why not enjoy refreshments at the parkland café in the parkland or main tea-room, or relax at a shady picnic spot in the garden? Put on your sun hat and come and make the most of being outdoors this summer.
Don't forget to stamp your play passport at the end of your visit.
Activities will be free of charge, normal admission charges apply. Summer of Play is sponsored by Starling Bank.
