Discover the beauty of hand embroidery in this inspiring workshop led by textile artist Lily Purslow at Wightwick Manor and Gardens.
Guided by Lily’s expertise, you’ll receive a full embroidery kit, high-quality DMC threads, 3D elements (shells) and an embroidery hoop for display. Perfect for those with some prior embroidery experience and at an intermediate level, this workshop provides expert support, hands-on techniques, and creative insights drawn from Lily’s extensive experience in fine art and textiles.
This workshop allows you to be creative in your chosen design as you will not be following a pattern, but rather allowing your creativity to flow and making your own unique rock pool design.
Enjoy a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere with drink refreshments included. Bring your own scissors and an optional sketchbook for extra creativity.
£85 per person, includes admission to the site, drinks refreshments and all materials. There will be a 1 hour break where you can explore the site and make use of the tearoom facilities if you wish.
Please note, this workshop takes place in the meeting room above the shop in the Old Manor building, which is only accessible via a flight of stairs and is not wheelchair accessible.
Workshop runs from 10:30am - 3:30pm with a 1 hour break.
Class will also run at Moseley Old Hall on Sunday 23 August, which will be in a room with step-free access.

- Suitability
Suitable for over 18's.
- Meeting point
Please park in the main car park and make your way up the path to the Manor. The course will take place in the Meeting Room which is located above the Old Manor shop (not wheelchair accessible).
- What to bring and wear
Bring a pair of sharp scissors for the workshop. Please no stiletto heels. Please note, bags larger than A4 are not permitted in the Manor and you will be asked to leave them in a locker.
- Accessibility
Note that as Wightwick Manor is a historical venue, some floors may be unlevel. The Meeting Room is located on the second floor of the old Manor building, up a short flight of stairs (no wheelchair access). Visitor toilets are in a separate building next to the tearoom. Contact Lily with any specific requests, access or assistance needs or requirements.
