Heritage Open Day 2026
Come see inside the late Medieval Gatehouse, one of the last remains of the Benedictine Abbey in Ramsey. There is no charge to visiting the Gatehouse and looking inside.

On 13th September, Ramsey Abbey Gatehouse will be opening its doors as part of its Autumn Heritage Open Day.
Ramsey Abbey Gatehouse is due to open from 11am to 4pm.
Visitors will be able to look around the medieval Gatehouse, free of charge, and see some of the remains of the Abbey which are stored in the building.
As part of the Heritage Open Day the different members of Ramsey Heritage Partnership, including Ramsey Rural Museum and St Thomas a Beckett church will also be opening their doors to the public.

The basics
- Accessibility
The lower level to Ramsey Abbey Gatehouse can be accessed by wheelchair via the road. The upper level is via a narrow spiral staircase which doesn't have a handrail.
- Suitability for children
This event is open to all, regardless of age.
- What to bring and wear
Normal everyday clothing can be worn. If looking to walk to other Heritage Partnership sites then appropriate footwear should be worn.
