Help keep Lanhydrock's parkland in top shape with self-led bracken bashing and Himalayan Balsam pulling.
- Booking not needed
- Free event
Get out into nature and help keep Lanhydrock's parkland in top shape with self-led bracken bashing and Himalayan Balsam pulling.
Follow the instructions at each station and help Lanhydrock's ranger team with conservation tasks in the parkland. Bracken and Himalayan Balsam are both dominant plants that prevent other plants from growing, so need managing to ensure a richer diversity of species.
Balsam pulling takes place near Kathleen Bridge, which is located just down the path from Respryn Bridge. Bracken bashing takes place on the path towards the Victorian Swimming Pool. Each activity is self-led and you can spend as little or as long as you like doing them.
Canes are provided for bracken bashing. Gloves aren't needed for these activities, but you’re welcome to bring your own if you'd like to.
Please follow the instructions provided, replace any equipment you take, and take care not to pull up or bash any plants that aren't bracken or balsam.
