This autumn Trelissick will be hosting a series of talks celebrating Cornish figures and heritage.

‘Forgotten Women of the Cornish Coast’ will be presented by Cornish writer, blogger and podcaster Elizabeth Dale and include a two-course lunch.

Cornish writer, Elizabeth Dale, has been publishing her blog 'The Cornish Bird' since 2016 and in that time she has delighted in discovering many lesser-known stories from Cornwall's past.

In this talk she introduces us to a wonderful group of feisty female characters, all with connections to our coast and all now faded into obscurity. Their stories, ordinary and extraordinary, help to illustrate why she finds Cornish history so endlessly fascinating and exciting.

Tickets cost £15pp and will include a two-course lunch and tea/coffee. Advanced booking is essential.

Please note, food and drinks prepared in our kitchens are made using a wide range of ingredients. Whilst we do our very best, we can't guarantee that any of our products are totally allergen free.

If you require more information about ingredients or allergens for an event, please contact the property directly.

Assistance dogs only.

Please arrive from 12.30pm, lunch will be served at 1pm and followed by the talk. We anticipate this event ending by 3pm.

Other talks in this series are: 26 September, ‘The Lost Years of Richard Trevithick in Latin America, 1816-1827’ with Joel Griffett 14 October, ‘Dark Tales of Cornish Smuggling’ with Keith Wallis
