Cornish birds talk
Join us at Trerice for informative talks on the Cornish chough and garden birds.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
The Cornwall Bird Watching and Preservation Society are offering two different talks every other week throughout the season at Trerice.
The first of which is an informative talk on garden birds, in which you can learn all about the birds you can spot in your own garden.
The second talk focuses on the return of the Cornish Chough, which, for many people, is the biggest event in birding in Cornwall. The Chough is an iconic bird, with a very distinctive bill, legs and call, and has appeared on flags and emblems in Cornwall for hundreds of years. This is exemplified by the 11th Battalion Home Guard, based at Trerice, choosing the Chough as their emblem. You will learn all about the now flourishing chough population of over 300 birds.
The first talk on March 12 will focus on garden birds and the next talk on March 26 will focus on the Cornish chough. The talks will alternate from there.
