The Buckland Book: A weekend of music

Join us for a magical weekend full of music! Working in partnership, National Trust and Exeter University researchers have transcribed the music from the Buckland Book, ready for its first performance in nearly five centuries.

  • Booking advisable
  • Admission applies

This music will be performed live by the University of Exeter Chapel Choir in the medieval Great Barn

They will also be joined by St Eustachius Church Choir, Mayflower Acapella, West Devon Chorale & South Devon Singers who will perform music of their choice

A drop-in music workshop will provide visitors with an opportunity to get creative and make their own music

The Abbey will also host musical performances throughout the day from volunteers and the University of Exeter Chapel Choir performing in small groups in the chapel

The event is supported by the Arts and Humanities Research Council through an Impact Accelerator Account Award

If you wish to pre-book car parking, we have 51 spaces and 6 blue badge spaces. There will also be free-flow parking available, but please be aware that we cannot guarantee availability due to expected high numbers

We recommend arriving by public transport if you are able; the 55 bus runs regularly from Yelverton, Monday-Saturday, and we also have bike posts available in our car park

This event is not ticketed (except for the pre-booked car park options) and there is no additional charge to see the choirs or take part in the workshops. Normal admission to the property applies, free for members
