Armada Maps at Buckland Abbey
In collaboration with Royal Navy Museums, join us for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see unique maps from the Spanish Armada.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
Experience the history and artistry of the Armada Maps in a limited exhibition in Buckland Abbey's Nave Gallery.
On display in the West Country for the first time, the unique Elizabethan maps will be displayed in the former home of Sir Francis Drake, one of the key figures in the resistance against the Spanish Armada in 1588.
The maps were also the source material for the mid-century murals in the Nave Gallery by artist Roland Pym, which will be on display together for the first time.
