Community Wassail

Join Riversong and toast good health to this traditional Devon orchard to help bring another successful harvest.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event

Wassail (from the Old Norse ves heill) is a traditional gathering still popular in the west country as a way of wishing "good health" to the orchard and to bring hope of a good harvest to come. We will follow the Riversong choir as they perform songs, and lead us in warding away evil spirits. This is an informal community gathering. Bring your own pots and wooden spoons for participating in the noise making! Please take note of the information on this page.
