Autumn fun and folklore day
Join us at half-term in the walled garden, for this special event to celebrate the atmospheric beauty of autumn, with Dartmoor stories, crafts and games.

This is a fabulous free event for the community, held in the beautiful surroundings of the walled garden on the Parke Estate. There will be plenty of nature themed craft activities and a fun 'hunt the squash' game. Make sure to visit Story Corner and listen to tales of Dartmoor folklore.
Story performances will take place at 12pm and 2pm for 20-30 minutes.
The event is supported and created by a collaboration between the National Trust, Dartmoor National Park Authority, Dartmoor Preservation Association, Better Places and local wildlife groups.
The event will only be cancelled in the case of severe weather.

The walled garden can be accessed a short distance from the car park down a steep tarmacked drive, with two steps. There is a second entrance via a slope with no step. Please let us know if we can help you with access needs.

Find us in the walled garden near the polytunnel.
- What to bring and wear
Be prepared for Devonshire weather, this is an outdoor event.
- Other
The car park is £3 for 2 hours for £5 all day, or the event is a short walk from Bovey Tracey. National Trust members park for free. Car park donations contribute towards the upkeep of the estate and free events like this one.
