Get creative and help raise awareness about water pollution. Use this dragonfly template to create a design that celebrates nature and the importance of clean water.
The winning designer will be invited to Wembury Marine Centre with their friends or family to bring their dragonfly to life on a 1-metre-high wooden sculpture. You’ll work alongside a professional artist, with all materials provided.
Once finished, your sculpture will go on public display in Mill Meadow (behind Wembury Beach) as part of the Wembury Dragonfly Sculpture Trail, launching in 2026.
This exciting arts project will bring together local community groups to design and paint five large dragonfly sculptures. The trail will highlight the importance of clean water and shine a light on everyday sources of pollution affecting our rivers and seas.
Here are some simple ideas to to try at home and help protect our water:
-
Only rain down the drain – keep harmful waste out of street drains
-
Grow your own – reduce the need for chemical-laden fruit and vegetable produce
-
Pick up litter – keep rubbish out of our rivers and oceans
Every action counts. Let your dragonfly design inspire positive change. Closing date for entries is 15 September 2025.
