Planning your day at Woolley Woods

The site at Woolley Woods is free to enter. On-site parking is available for visitors and parking charges apply (free for National Trust members).

There are seven accessible parking spaces and blue badges can park for free. From the car park, key facilities such as the toilets, Welcome Hub and visitor information boards are within a short distance.

The site is open from dawn until dusk, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the woods at your own pace.

Please note that camping and overnight parking are not permitted at Woolley Woods.

Free for National Trust members. Charges apply for non-members at £1.30 for 1 hour, £2.60 for 2 hours or £5.20 for the full day.

There are five toilets on site including one accessible toilet with a baby changing area. The toliet are unisex and open daily between 7am - 9pm.

There is a drinking water tap, this can be found next to the Welcome Hub entrance.

The 1.2km multi-use trail starts next to the Welcome Hub and Kiosk. The trail is surface and suitable for pushchairs and mobility scooters/trampers and wheelchairs.

The path is a gentle gradient with a slight incline. The gradient does not exceed 5%. There are regular benches for a break and to take in the panoramic views.

Paths that lead into the wider estate can be steep and uneven.

We have one tramper (powered mobility vehicle) available to hire during our Welcome Hub open times. The tramper can be used on the Woolley Meadows loop (which is about a half an hour route).

The Woolley Meadows route offers a well surfaced, wide track with gentle gradients and panoramic views - perfect if you are a first time user.

Horse boxes are welcome, please park at the bottom of the car park.

Horses are not allow on the multi-use trail but can access the woods via the permissive bridleway.

Dogs are allowed on site. There must be kept on a short lead in the car park and around the play area, multi-use trail and cycle skills area.

When on the wider estate dogs can be off lead but need to be under mindful close control.

During bird nesting season dogs need to be on leads across the whole site and also around livestock.

Bikes racks can be found next to the Food and Beverage Kiosk.

Balance bikes are free to hire during Visitor reception opening times on a first come first served basis.

Please note, no other bikes are avaliable to hire on site.

There are no general rubbish bins on site, please take your rubbish home with you.

Dog poo bins are available, please sure to pick up your dog’s poo and do not kick it into the hedge. This is for the safety of our rangers and to protect the ecosystem.
