Outdoor Cinema - Wonka (PG)

Join Purbeck Film Festival in the historic ruins of Corfe Castle for a night under the stars. Put on your top hat, fetch your walking stick, and join us for a chocolate-themed summer evening!

  • Booking essential

Before building his chocolate factory, Willy Wonka tries to establish himself in Europe by combining his wonderful inventions with his chocolatier skills. However, the corrupt and devious chocolate cartel are jealous of his success and will stop at nothing to end his career.

For all those that missed out on the now-legendary Glaswegian Wonka Experience, don’t fret! The PFF brings you the smash hit musical film without a depressed Oompa Loompa in sight. It is directed by Paul King, who made the charming recent Paddington films and brings the same deadpan humour and quick-witted sense of the absurd to this film as he continues his fruitful partnership with Hugh Grant, who leads a supporting cast stuffed with British National Treasures: Olivia Colman, Sally Hawkins, Matt Lucas and even Rowan Atkinson. Pin-up of the moment Timothée Chalamet stars as Wonka and rises to the occasion with his boyish charm. Like one of Wonka’s magnificent creations, this is a special treat that the whole family can enjoy together.

Look out for the scenes filmed right here in Dorset - will you recognise the Cobb at Lyme Regis?

Gates open from 8pm, film starts 8.45 pm (depending on levels of light). Tickets £12 Adult, £6 Child (under 18) and £30 Family Ticket (2 Adults + 2 Children or 1 Adult + 3 Children).

Performances are weather dependent but will only be cancelled in extreme circumstances.
