Hardy Monument - a wildlife wander
A wildlife wander aimed at familes, children and young people, but everyone is welcome. This will be a fun and easy walk led by National Trust ecology volunteers.

Our National Trust Ecology Volunteers are looking forward to welcoming you to Hardy Monument. Here they will lead you on a walk around the area the Monument stands and together we will investigate the animals and plants who call this home.
This is being offered as part of the Dorchester Walking Festival programme of events which are running between 11th -18th May. For more information and to book a place on this walk you can visit: https://discoverdorchester.co.uk/dorchester-walking-festival/
Hardy Monument will be open so you will have the opportunity to climb the steps to the top after the walk. The admission price for the Monument is £5 but free for National Trust members.

The basics

Children and familes are welcome.

Meet at the National Trust, Hardy Monument car park on Saturday 18th May at 10.00am
- What to bring and wear
As there are no cafes near by we recommend a bag with a drink and possibly snacks. Weather appropriate clothing and footwear is essential.

Some paths will not be suitable for pushchairs.

You can book for this event via the Dorchester Walking Festival event page: https://discoverdorchester.co.uk/dorchester-walking-festival/ Walk ups on the morning will be accepted. Please arrive just before 10.00am so we can ensure we depart promptly. The walk will be weather dependent so could be cancelled at short notice. If wind gusts are over 45mph or if we are worried about heavy rain we may have to cancel.
