Guided Walk - In the childhood footsteps of Thomas Hardy

A Thomas Hardy themed walk which will include stories and poetry as we discuss how this special part of Dorset influenced the great writer and poet.

  • Booking advisable
  • Admission applies

We will walk around Thorncombe Woods exploring Rushy pond, the Roman Road and Rainbarrows. Although just a short distance the walk takes up to 2 hours because of our frequent stops to enjoy Hardy's works.

This is being offered as part of the Dorchester Walking Festival programme of events which are running between 11th -18th May. For more information you can visit: https://discoverdorchester.co.uk/dorchester-walking-festival/

If you would like to visit Hardy's Cottage at the end of the walk you will need to book this independently for 12.30 on the day of the walk. You can do this by calling: 0344 249 1895.
