Stepping into Parkinson’s and nature: discover more with a taster session

Working with Parkinson’s UK and Forestry England the National Trust have developed 12-week running and walking programmes to support those living with Parkinson’s to maintain activity levels.

Fancy getting more active? Come along to meet the run and walk leaders to find out how these programmes might work for you, alongside meeting a representative from Parkinson’s UK.

Between 12.30pm and 2pm make your way to the Tipi to discover how walking and running can help with symptoms of Parkinson’s, find out more about the programmes running and meet those leading the sessions. You will also be able to find out more about Parkinson’s UK.

2pm – 3pm: join an introductory run or walk to see how the sessions will operate.

3pm – 4pm: come together with other participants, leaders and representatives from Parkinson’s UK for a social drink in the café (refreshments not included).

The Tipi is located at the start of the Woodland Walk, approximately a 5 minute walk from Visitor Reception.

What to bring and wear

If you wish to join a taster session please wear active attire and trainers, appropriate for the forecasted weather conditions. Please bring any food and drink needed.

Accessibility

The Tipi is accessible to all from hard-standing paths. If you wish to join a taster session the routes will cross gravel and grass paths. If you have any specific requirements or would like to find out more please contact 01202 883402.
