Heritage Day
Dunstable Downs has a fascinating history, and it’s time we shouted about it! Join the celebration on 29 June.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
Over the last year, we have been collecting memories and delving into the rich history and heritage of Dunstable Downs. Thanks to local organisations, communities, and visitors, we now have lots to share with you, and hope that you have more to share with us too! Heritage Day is the perfect way to get involved.
Throughout the day, there will be opportunities to:
- Engage with our Memories Project and contribute your own personal stories.
- Have family fun with the return of orange bowling, inspired by the tradition of orange rolling on the Downs.
- Speak with our rangers and learn all about how we conserve this special piece of land.
- Talk with local community groups such as Dunstable Town Guides and Bedfordshire Natural History Society.
- Celebrate the rich heritage of kite flying at Dunstable Downs with a round of the STACK UK National Championship (STACK ROUNDS), a sport kite competition that has seen a round hosted at Dunstable Downs since 2013.
Saturday 29 June, drop in anytime between 10.30am and 4.00pm. Free entry – normal car parking charges apply. No booking required.
