Join the National Trust’s regional archaeologist and the Cotswolds countryside team for a day of celebrating caring for nationally important archaeology and nature.
Find out about one of the largest and longest-running archaeological excavations in the UK (1969-1993) with guided tours from members of the Crickley Hill Archaeological Trust, and explore some of the artefacts and images from the excavations. You’ll also have a chance to learn how this site is managed by both the National Trust and Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust, as well as being able to excavate finds in our sand box excavation activity and explore the site with a heritage spotter trail.
There'll be a chance to be led on a guided tour of Crickley Hill by Prof. Philip Dixon who was director of the excavations 1969-present at 11am and again at 1pm.

- Accessibility
There are accessible parking spaces in the carpark, an accessible toilet and baby changing facilities. The café and visitor hub are both wheelchair accessible and assistance dogs are welcome. Limited mobility scooter hire is available, while some of the paths are accessible for wheelchair and pushchair users.

The stall will be set up outside the Crickley Hill Cafe under a National Trust Gazebo.

Approximately 3½ miles from Gloucester and 2½ miles from Cheltenham on the A417 Parking: The car park belongs to Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust. All visitors (including National Trust members) need to pay for their stay 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Parking is a flat fee of £2.50 and should be paid at the end of your visit. The payment kiosks are located by the cafe and at the lower carpark. Dogs: Dogs are welcome, though they must remain on leads when conservation grazing are grazing.
