Snowshill Manor and Garden is the perfect place to visit with the family. In the manor there is plenty to delight everyone whether its our samurai armour collection or historic toys. The garden also offers plenty for everyone. Why not pick up one of the free Garden Explorer Notebooks from Visitor Reception.
Planning your family visit
- We have a baby changing facility near Visitor Reception.
- We welcome breastfeeding everywhere at Snowshill Manor and Garden. If you require a private or quiet space, please speak to a member of staff onsite.
- Picnics welcome in Pipers Orchard with views across the valley.
- Buggies are welcome in the garden but please be aware that there are steps and uneven paths. We cannot accommodate buggies in the manor and you will be directed to park your buggy outside.
- We have small formal gardens and narrow paths so please do not bring bikes or scooters and toys like balls with you.

Explore the collection
Charles Wade's collection has something to intrigue everyone. From historic toys and bicycles to our collection of samurai armour or theatre masks, exploring the house and collection brings something new and wondrous things to discover around every corner. We have handling collection items around the house which can be picked up and looked at.
Discover some of Charles Wade's more ghoulish items in the Manor and see if you can spot the hidden creatures.
Dressing up
The costume collection is one of the most important parts of Wade's collection and at weekends there are replica 18th century costume items that the whole family can try on. Take a photo and tag us on social media.

Sensory Bags
We have two sensory bags for visitors to borrow for the duration of your visit. Available from Visitor Reception, each bag contains: ear defenders, communication cards, a fidget toy, binoculars, a torch, a magnifiying glass and a finger puppet. These resources are for anyone who thinks they would aid their visit.
